Aug. 8 for $10 Sneak Peek

The August 8 for $10 Workshop is Monday evening, August 3rd at 7pm. Here's a sneak peek at four more fun summertime cards we'll be making. Summer has provided lots of inspiration for workshops this year.

Please RSVP ASAP to let me know you'll be attending.

Anyone who attended July's Stamp Camp with the Tart & Tangy stamp set: We'll be using the citrus stamp on two of our cards. If you'd like to bring your stamp along, that would be great. I will be glad to mark it so we know which one is yours at the end of the evening.

Anyone who purchased the scallop edge punch in the Deal of the Week promotion earlier in July: We will be using the scallop edge punch for one of our cards. If you'd like to bring yours along to use, feel free! Mine will probably be enough, but if you'd like to use your own, bring it along.

Thanks for stopping by!

Deal of the Week #5

Here's the fifth and final deal of the week from Stampin' Up!

You can find this punch with all the others on pp. 186-187 of the new 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog. This punch is normally $15.95, but this week the Heart to Heart punch is on sale for $10.99. I'll be placing an order on Friday this week, so contact me by Thursday at noon to share S&H charges. Thanks for stopping by!

Luau Bridal Shower Invitations

Earlier this week, I showed you a birthday card I made with the adorable "dress made from a scalloped circle" idea from Patty's blog. I used the idea to make bridal shower invitations for my sister-in-law's bridal shower coming up in August.

The shower is having a luau theme, so I used SU!'s Pink Flamingo DSDSP for perfect dress "fabric." They turned out great--even if I do say so myself! I made 80 (Yes, 80!) of them, so I wanted to show you a few pictures of my mass produced invites.

Note to All my Stamping Ladies: We'll be making a version of this card as one of your projects at the August 8 for $10 workshop! Thanks for stopping by!

Scripture Cards Close Ups

Here are just some close ups of the scripture cards I was telling you about yesterday. Thanks for stopping by!

Scripture Cards Gift Box

Back in June, I hosted a Stamp Camp where we made Scripture-themed cards using the SU! Tea Party DSDSP. When I was planning the cards, I made a trial run set using a retired SU! DSDSP.

I made ten cards total and then put them in a boxed set with a matching pen for the lovely lady, Miss Nanetta, who watched my 2-year old last school year whenever my 5-year old had a preschool party or field trip. I had her in mind as I was making them, and she loved getting them as a gift. Thank you, Miss Nanetta, for being his Indiana grandmother! Thanks for stopping by!

Surfer Ian Gift Card Holder

Yesterday, I showed you a birthday card I made for a birthday celebration in PA while we were there for the 4th of July holiday weekend. Today, I'm showing you my really late Father's Day gifts for Jim's dad and my dad that we gave them while we were in PA. The boys are so bleached blonde from being at the beach earlier this summer, that I thought this little surfer Ian stamp looked like them. I made it into a gift card holder and gave the grandfathers gift cards to restaurants they frequent. Thanks for stopping by!

Deal of the Week #4

Here's the fourth deal of the week during the month of July from Stampin' Up! Next Monday will be the last Deal of the Week during this campaign.

You can find this item on p. 178 of the new 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog. These Hodgepodge Hardware kits are normally $29.95, but this week the vanilla kit is on sale for $18.99. Contact me by Saturday at noon to order. Thanks for stopping by!

Ashly's Birthday Card

While we were in PA for the 4th of July holiday weekend, we celebrated my brother's birthday a few days early. Coincidentally, the 4th was his friend, Ashly's, birthday too. I made her this card, and the boys gave her some cute little stamped notepads. They sang "Happy Birthday!" to her too, and it was adorable--even if I do say so myself!

The card idea came from Patty's blog a few months ago. In a few days, I'll share some bridal shower invitations I made with this card idea too. Thanks for stopping by!

July 8 for $10 Card IV

Here's the fourth and final card from the July 8 for $10 workshops. I decided to continue with the cute, summery card theme. Another stamping friend, Michelle, mentioned that she loves the Bugs and Kisses stamp set, so I decided to use that one for a card. I am always open to taking requests!

This card was inspired by yet another card in the Splitcoast Stampers gallery. I love to go there for ideas! This was the simplest card of the evening, and I think the ladies were relieved to have a card that they didn't have to color or paper piece! I always like to embellish the envelope a little to match the card. I thikn it adds a cute added touch. Thanks for stopping by!

July 8 for $10 Card III

This is the other card we did with the Loads of Love stamp set. (See yesterday's post for story behind why we did projects with this stamp set this month.) It was inspired by this card.

I'm sure my regular stamping ladies are sick to death of this Sale-A-Bration DSDSP that I keep pulling out and try to use up. I am determined to use it all! I used the SAB So Saffron ribbon on two cards this month too. See tomorrow's post for the other card to use it.

This card also used the faux watercoloring technique with blender pens and glossy white cardstock like the Under the Stars card I posted about two days ago. (Scroll down to see it.) I love using the glossy white card stock for watercoloring this way, and many of the ladies at my workshops did too! Thanks for stopping by!

July 8 for $10 Card II

I promised one of my stamping gals, Kristie, that when she decided what stamp set she wanted to purchase, I would make a few projects with it at a workshop so that she would have some ideas to take home with her. She decided to purchase the Loads of Love and Loads of Love Accessories sets.

This card uses the paper piecing technique. You stamp the image on a base piece of paper and then on another piece of paper. Cut the image out, and then layer it on top of the stamped image on the base piece. Here, the truck body is cut out of Regal Rose cardstock and glued onto the base image of Naturals Ivory.

This card is also a different style of card than our normal 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" cards. This is called a table tent or tent topper card--or something like that. Of course, I can't find it right now when I need it. At any rate, take a look at this card that inspired me, and you'll see what I mean.

These were the first two stamp sets I purchased. I made our 2005 Christmas cards with it, because it matched a little truck with a Christmas tree in the back on the little sweater vest my oldest son was going to wear for his Christmas pictures. As you can see, it's very simple! I was mass producing it, and I didn't know what I was doing yet! Thanks for stopping by!

July 8 for $10 Card I

Here's the first card from the July 8 for $10 workshop. It was inspired by this card.

We learned a new faux watercoloring technique using blender pens and glossy white cardstock. There was also some masking done on this card to make the bear "hold" his can of beans and sleeping bag. Having a stamp-a-ma-jig helps too!

This Under the Stars set is so cute. I can't wait to use it on many more projects in the future. Thanks for stopping by!

Deal of the Week #3

Here's the third deal of the week during the month of July from Stampin' Up!

You can find these brads on p. 179 of the new 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog. Contact me to order. I'll be placing an order this Wednesday if you'd like to share S&H charges. Thanks for stopping by!

July Stamp Camp

The July Stamp Camp will take place on Saturday, July 25th at 9am at my house. We will be making this adorable set of cards with matching box to hold them. You will make 2 each of 5 designs for a total of 10 cards using the Tart & Tangy stamp set. This class was designed by Andrea Walford. You can view her website loaded with ideas at Sunny Stampin, Inc., and more photos of this class are available on this page of her site.

There are two options for attending the Stamp Camp:

Option #1 - $24: Attend the class and make 10 cards with envelopes and the matching box to hold them all. Plus, receive 3 brand new Stampin’ Write Markers (Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red), $3.95 each. You will use the markers to make your cards and will then be yours to keep. To purchase the markers with S&H and taxes, they would total $13.95, which means you're taking the class for just $10!

Option #2 - $36: Get all the benefits of Option #1 plus receive the Tart & Tangy stamp set to use that day and then take home with you. The set sells for $12.95 in the current SU! catalog. With S&H and taxes, the stamp set and markers would total $29.19, which means you're taking the class for just under $7! Or, compared to Option #1, you could say you're getting the stamp set for $12 instead of the full price of $12.95 plus S&H and taxes, which would be $15.25!

I will be using the Tart & Tangy stamp set to make two projects at the August 8 for $10 workshops. If you choose Option #2, you could already have the set and take home lots of ideas for things to make with it! Either Option #1 or Option #2 is a great deal!

Please RSVP by Wednesday, July 15th at noon to let me know you're attending and which option you choose. Thanks for stopping by!

July 8 for $10 Workshop Sneak Peek

The July 8 for $10 Workshops are Monday and Tuesday! Here's a sneak peek at the four fun summertime cards we'll be making.

Please RSVP ASAP to let me know which workshop you'll be attending: Monday at 7pm or Tuesday at 9am.

Also, Saturday, the 25th, is the July Stamp Camp. I'll be posting pictures of the project and details soon! Thanks for stopping by!

Independence Day

Have a safe and wonderful 4th of July holiday!

God Bless the USA!

June 8 for $10 Card IV

Here's the fourth and final card from the June 8 for $10 workshop. This card features another of the recently retired stamp sets, Stitched Exotics. We used the stamp set to create our own designer series patterned paper, if you will. Using inspiration from this project, it was a color scheme I would have never created on my own. Thanks for stopping by!

June 8 for $10 Card III

This card is a complete CASE of Heather's card here. I thought this was a super cute idea for Father's Day or just a male birthday card. It was a great way to use SU! punches. We even used the SU! Big Shot to stipple the white cardstock of the ball to make it look like a dimpled golf ball! Thanks for stopping by!
