March 8 for $10 Workshop is CANCELLED

I hate to do this, but I am cancelling this Tuesday's workshop. The Toth house is being quarantined! Seriously, we are all sick and three of the four of us are on antibiotics. The Toth men are all on the tail end of it and starting to feel better, but I am at the peak, I think. I started on antibiotics today, and I'm hoping to feel better soon. There's just no way I can get everything ready for Tuesday evening's workshop. I'm sorry!

I am working on ideas for spring projects and will be sending out a spring newsletter soon. I hope you all have a great week and are able to get out and enjoy this gorgeous weather we're having! Thanks for stopping by!

Indy Shamrock Run & Walk

Today was the Indianapolis St. Patrick's Day Celebration Shamrock Run & Walk. It was a 4-mile event around the downtown area, and we passed some famous Irish establishments along the way. You can see more information, including everything you want to know about the St. Patrick's Day Parade on their website.

I am proud to say that I did pretty well! Here are my stats:
  • time: 33:19.2, a 8:19 min./mile pace
  • 6th in my age group for women 30-34
  • 274th out of 1297 total participants
Tomorrow my sister, Jill, is running her first 5K, the Shamrock 5K, in Baltimore, MD. I'm so proud of her and all she's accomplished the past few months. Good luck, Jill! Thanks for stopping by!

Handmade Cards for Sale

I am starting to offer something new in conjunction with my monthly stamping workshops, and I wanted to let you all in on it. Many of you are extremely busy and have a hard time making it to my workshops. Or you live far away, or simply don't enjoy crafting, but you have mentioned in the past that you like my handmade cards and enjoy having them on hand to send to family, friends and loved ones.

Every month, I have an 8 for $10 workshop here at my house with four projects. Starting with the projects from tonight's workshop, I will make any extras available to anyone who is interested. You will receive the eight completed (by me) cards/projects for $12 with additional fees required for shipping if that's necessary. Cards will include matching envelopes. These will be offered on a first come, first served basis. Once they're sold out, additional cards will not be available.

Contact me if you are interested, and I'll put you on my email list. I will then send you an email around the time of my workshop every month showing you that month's projects available for purchase. They will typically include cards appropriate for upcoming holidays along with general multi-purpose cards. Thanks for stopping by!

February 8 for $10 Workshop IV

This is the final project we made at the February 8 for $10 workshop. I hope you've enjoyed seeing all four projects in my posts this week.

I found this card in the Sale-A-Bration projects gallery on the Splitcoast Stampers website. I always go there looking for inspiration when I'm trying to pick a card to make with a specific stamp set. I love their Stampin' Up! galleries where you can see hoards of cards made with one particular set.

This simple little card is so easy, but so adorable. The ladies that were here really liked this card. The best thing about it is that you can remake it with any number of coordinating patterned papers, and it would be perfect for any occasion. You simply pick the sentiment to stamp on it! Thanks for stopping by!

February 8 for $10 Workshop III

I have a number of blogs that I follow, and one of my favorites is Stamper Camper's Corner. She makes some really great cards, and I like her style. She made this card using a Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Botanical Blooms, which you can receive free right now. Send me an email if you're interested in placing an order and getting some freebies. The promotion ends March 31st. Thanks for stopping by!

February 8 for $10 Workshop II

Unfortunately, I've had the need for some sympathy cards lately. No one ever wants to need sympathy cards, but the reality is that sometimes we do. So what better time to give someone a handmade creation to let them know they're in your thoughts and prayers?

My upline, Bobbie, provided this card design to me a few weeks ago. She posted some pics of some other variations on her blog as well, Inspired by Ink. I chose to use one of her layouts with the Stampin' Up! patterned paper, Delicate Dots, available for free in the current Sale-A-Bration promotion. As a reminder, Sale-A-Bration ends March 31st, so if you're interested in placing an order and receiving free merchandise, contact me soon before it's over! Thanks for stopping by!

February 8 for $10 Workshop I

I always like to have projects at workshops that are relevant to upcoming holidays and events. Most people don't send cards for St. Patrick's Day, but I wanted to have at least one project reflect a little influence of the upcoming holiday.

Using an old sketch challenge from the Taylored Expressions blog, I created this card. I don't often create cards of my own, so this was really fun for me. I chose some coordinating patterned papers with green in them and wanted to use my Happy Hearts stamp set to create a shamrock, so the layout was the only unknown variable left. The sketch challenge provided that, and I was all set to create the rest. I'm quite proud of my card, and I've been challenged by my stampers to create another original card for the March workshop. Thanks, Ladies, for the encouraging compliments! Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Card from Jill

My sister, Jill, sent me a very lovely handmade birthday card for my birthday back in February. I wanted to share it with all of you. Thank you, Jill, for the beautiful handmade card! Thanks for stopping by!

February 8 for $10 Workshop--in March!

Here's a sneak peek at the four projects we'll be making Thursday evening for the February 8 for $10 workshop. We'll be using lots of Stampin' Up!'s Sale-A-Bration merchandise. You can get lots of stuff for free with a qualifying purchase. Hope to see you! Thanks for stopping by!

Thank You Gift

A friend of our family has been serving in Iraq for the past year. He and his family attend our church, and he arrived home safe and sound last week. He likes my sugar cookies, and his wife likes my peanut butter cookies. I don't know what the kids like, but kids like most any cookies, right?

If you've read my blog regularly, you know that I like to reuse and recycle all sorts of things. This plastic tub originally held salad greens. It's perfect for a few dozen cookies. I just trimmed some patterned paper to fit the top and then made a cute 3x3 thank you card to coordinate.

Thank you, all military personnel, for doing what you do. Thank you, all their families, who have also sacrificed a great deal. Their sacrifice allows us all to enjoy the life of freedom we have here in this country. Because of you, I don't have to worry for the continual safety of my family on a daily basis. Thank you.
