Free Standing Pop-Up Card

This card is based on a card my upline, Bobbie Lawrence, gave me last fall when I had an open house. My stamping friend, Polly, has wanted to make it for a whole year! I finally got around to it this fall.

Like yesterday's card, there's a great Free Standing Pop-Up Card Tutorial on the Splitcoast Stampers website. The tutorials are great, because there's always a gallery associated with it containing projects based on the tutorial. I love that these cards fold up and fit in a standard size envelope to be mailed.

I only changed a few minor details from the original card. Thanks, Bobbie, for the RAK! Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin' Up! Clearance Rack

Check out Stampin' Up!'s new Clearance Rack. Fantastic deals on surplus Stampin' Up! products!

Stampin' Up! unveiled today a new section in their online store called the Clearance Rack. It contains a surplus inventory of discontinued items now available for purchase.

  • The Clearance Rack is not a promotion. It launched today but does not have a set end date.
  • All products in the Clearance Rack section are retired, discontinued items. No current products will be sold in the Clearance Rack.
  • Clearance Rack items are only available while supplies last. Items will be removed and new items will be posted depending on inventory levels. There is no set time for availability.
  • All sales of Clearance Rack items are final. No returns or exchanges will be accepted, except in the case of defective product.

I will be placing an order on Thursday morning, so if you go to the Clearance Rack and see anything you'd like, just send me an email by 7am Thursday morning! You will save on shipping and handling by placing an order with me that way! If you ever wish to place an order for any of the clearance items, just give me a call or send me an email. Flower Pot Pocket Card

One of my newest stamping friends, Darlene, made a request to make a flower pot card at a workshop. The Splitcoast Stampers website has a great Flower Pot Pocket Card Tutorial. There's even a gallery of Flower Pot Pocket Cards for you to browse for inspiration.

I like black-eyed susans and was inspired by a few cards in the gallery that were made to look like them. This card would also be great made with some artificial flowers taken off their stems and adhered to the insert piece if you didn't want to stamp, punch, or cut out flowers on your own. Thanks for stopping by!

Trendy Trees Card

Here's the Trendy Trees card we made at last week's September 8 for $10 workshop. It was inspired by Nancy Riley's card here.

Stop in tomorrow to see the black-eyed susan flower pot card we made! Thanks for stopping by!

Just Soccer

There are some SU! stamp sets that I purchase with no intention of using at a workshop. They're just stamp sets that I have to have for my own personal use. Most of the time, they are little boy sets. Someday when I have time to scrapbook, I will use them. The Just Soccer set was one of those sets.

My oldest son is playing soccer for the first time this fall. This is his first organized sport of any kind for that matter. He's doing so well, and I'm so proud of him! He scored our team's only goal in their first game two Saturdays ago. This past Saturday, he scored two goals and did a great job as goalie in the last quarter!

Our friend, Miss Kim, gave us some hand-me-down soccer shoes that her boys had grown out of, so I wanted to make a thank you card for her with this set. Then I decided I wanted to send one to our dear friends, Miss Sally and Miss Nanetta, for coming to his first soccer game with us. I know I'll want to send one to his coach at the end of the season too, so I just decided to mass produce about a dozen of them!

Oh, and before I forget, here's the card that inspired me. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today is my mom's birthday, so I am sharing the little gift box and card that I made for her.

This card gave me the inspiration for my card. It's made with the new Sweet Centers stamp set from the current Holiday Mini catalog. I'm excited to use a bunch of the stamp sets from the new mini at my upcoming workshops. Speaking of which, there's one this Thursday evening. If you haven't RSVP'd yet to let me know you're coming, do it today!

The little gift box contains a necklace that my mom liked. I made my own little box for it with an insert on the inside as well to hold the necklace in place. I was proud of my little creation! These aren't very fall looking colors, but I was pleased with it nonetheless. We'll be doing a lot of fall projects in the next few weeks, so I'll get my fix through those. I love fall! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy International Talk Like a Pirate Day!

That's right, you heard me. Tomorrow's International Talk Like a Pirate Day. In honor of the day, I'm sharing with you this card from a workshop I gave a long, long time ago. This set and the matching jumbo wheel are retired now. It was one of those sets that any self-respecting mother of two little boys should have. Arrr, Thanks for stopping by!

September 8 for $10 Workshop

It's been quite a few weeks since I've hosted a workshop, so I wanted to remind everyone that the September 8 for $10 workshop will be on Thursday, September 24th at 7pm here at my house. (That's two weeks from today.) Please RSVP by Monday, September 21st. The picture above is a sneak peek of the four projects we'll be making. If you check out my blog regularly, you've already seen a picture of one of the cards we'll be making. I shared a full picture of it earlier this week. Thanks for stopping by!

Baby Shower Gift Card Holder

In a post last week, I shared with you a card I had made for Jim's cousin's baby shower. The shower is this coming weekend. This morning I made up a quick gift card holder for the gift card we are sending. I thought I'd make this type of gift card holder so that it would look a little like a diaper bag. Thanks for stopping by!

My Parents' 35th Wedding Anniversary Card

My parents' 35th wedding anniversary is today. I've been wanting to break my Medallion stamp out and use it for a few weeks now, but just hadn't had the time. Using this card as inspiration, I crafted this card for them.

I embellished the image on the card and the "35" on the envelope a little with a silver glitter pen. Oh, and the "Happy Anniversary" with the big "35" in the middle was made with some of my JustRite stamps.

Note to my Stamping Ladies: You will be making this card at the September 8 for $10 workshop on Thursday evening, September 24th here at my house at 7pm.

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a Fantastic Holiday Weekend!

Wild About You Baby Shower Card

One of Jim's cousins is having her first baby later in the fall. I received an invitation to her baby shower a few weeks ago, and it had baby jungle animals on it. I emailed Jim's aunt to see if the baby's room was going to be decorated in a baby jungle animal theme. It is, so I thought I'd pull out my Wild About You stamp set to make my card for the shower. I was inspired by this card on the Inking Idaho blog a few months ago and kept it in mind for the next time I wanted to make a card with this set.

I think I might send a photo frame with my card and gift. Then I'll tell her that if she'd like, she could place the card in a frame to make it into a decoration for the baby's room. What do you think? Thanks for stopping by!
