Baby Shower Gift Card Holder

In a post last week, I shared with you a card I had made for Jim's cousin's baby shower. The shower is this coming weekend. This morning I made up a quick gift card holder for the gift card we are sending. I thought I'd make this type of gift card holder so that it would look a little like a diaper bag. My Parents' 35th Wedding Anniversary Card

My parents' 35th wedding anniversary is today. I've been wanting to break my Medallion stamp out and use it for a few weeks now, but just hadn't had the time. Using this card as inspiration, I crafted this card for them.

I embellished the image on the card and the "35" on the envelope a little with a silver glitter pen. Oh, and the "Happy Anniversary" with the big "35" in the middle was made with some of my JustRite stamps.

Note to my Stamping Ladies: You will be making this card at the September 8 for $10 workshop on Thursday evening, September 24th here at my house at 7pm.

Have a Fantastic Holiday Weekend!

Here's hoping you make the best of your three-day weekend this Labor Day. Relax and enjoy some time with your family before summer is gone! Thanks for stopping by!

Wild About You Baby Shower Card

One of Jim's cousins is having her first baby later in the fall. I received an invitation to her baby shower a few weeks ago, and it had baby jungle animals on it. I emailed Jim's aunt to see if the baby's room was going to be decorated in a baby jungle animal theme. It is, so I thought I'd pull out my Wild About You stamp set to make my card for the shower. I was inspired by this card on the Inking Idaho blog a few months ago and kept it in mind for the next time I wanted to make a card with this set.

I think I might send a photo frame with my card and gift. Then I'll tell her that if she'd like, she could place the card in a frame to make it into a decoration for the baby's room. What do you think? Thanks for stopping by!

September Stamp Camp - Flip Books

Come make a 6x6 Scrapbook at the September Stamp Camp on Saturday, September 12th here at my house! The little scrapbook, called a Flip Book, is made from half of a Stampin' Up! Simply Scrappin' Kit. Many of you saw the Flip Book I made this summer filled with pictures of my sons and requested that I offer the class again. It made a truly unique Mother's Day gift, and my mom has mentioned more than once how much she loves her Flip Book.

Choose any of the kits available in the current SU! IB&C (Idea Book & Catalog) to make your own personal keepsake of a special event or occasion. There are wedding, baby and Christmas kits, just to name a few. You can then make a second Flip Book with the leftover half of the kit. Or take the class with a friend, pick different kits, and swap the second halves. Simply Scrappin' Kits sell for $19.95 each plus S&H and sales taxes.

An additional $10 class fee includes:
  • preparation of the Simply Scrappin' Kit contents for one Flip Book assembly
  • written instructions to make a Flip Book
  • coordinating SU! ribbon to create a tied closure for each Flip Book
  • adhesive
  • lunch
I held a Flip Book Stamp Camp last October, so there are past posts with many pictures of Flip Books that I made along with Flip Books that class attendees made that day. Check out all the links below:
The deadline to register for the Flip Book Stamp Camp is Monday, August 31st. If you plan to attend the class, I need to have your paid order for the Simply Scrappin' Kit you choose by that date. The $10 class fee can be paid at the class on September 12th.

If you don't have a current catalog and would like to browse the available Simply Scrappin' Kits, please email me. I'll be happy to send you a file with the pages of the catalog, or will lend you a catalog to peruse at your convenience. Thanks for stopping by!

More Backpack Gifts

Here are cards I made to go along with some more little backpack gifts. These are for two young ladies who are starting their first semesters at college this fall. The third is for my sister who teaches an undergraduate course in the evenings at Towson University in Baltimore. I thought these made great back-to-school gifts. I filled them with candy treats.

I posted earlier this week with some backpacks I made for my oldest son's kindergarten teacher and aides. Scroll down to see them. Thanks for stopping by!

Get Well Soon card

This is a card I used at a workshop back in January of 2007. The Under the Weather stamp set has long since been retired, but I had a few of these left in my stash of cards. Actually, the sentiment isn't Stampin' Up! When I made my leftover cards up, I used a JustRite stamper for the "Get Well Soon!"

A dear friend of ours was sick this week, so I pulled this card out to send her. We hope she gets to feeling a lot better soon! Thanks for stopping by!

Back to School Backpack Gifts

Yesterday I showed you the cute chalkboard cards I made for my oldest son's kindergarten teacher and aides. Here are the gifts that I made to go along with them. We'll be taking these to Meet the Teacher night this evening.

Here's the link to the Splitcoast Stampers tutorial on how to make these little backpacks. They aren't very big, but I was able to fit some ibuprofen (for headaches caused by kindergarteners), gourmet chocolate, taffy and mints inside of them. Thanks for stopping by!

Kindergarten Teacher Cards

My oldest son just started kindergarten last week. I have seen some really cute back-to-school gifts and cards on other stamping sites, and I thought I'd make some of my own. I'll show you the gift tomorrow, but today I want to show you the cute cards I made.

These are little 3x3 cards. I was really wishing I had the SU! Woodgrain background stamp when I made the little chalkboard frame pieces. I think I shall have to purchase it sometime soon.

Also, the chalkboard look is acheived by using a white crayon on black cardstock. Cute, huh? My mom bought me a retired SU! stamp set on eBay a while back that has the cute little elementary school images in it. I can't wait to scrapbook someday with my cute little scissors, ruler and crayon stamps.

Come back tomorrow to see the little gift that goes with these cards. We'll be taking them with us to Meet the Teacher night on Wednesday evening. I made one for his teacher and one for each of the two aides that help with his class. Thanks for stopping by!

Just Moved!

No, I haven't moved. My sister has, and I made this card for her. She just moved to a new place in Baltimore, Maryland. That's her with her two cats on the card. *grin* I hope she likes it!

I CASE'd this card from the Artistic Avenger blog. I thought it was such a cute way to use the All in the Family stamp set and coordinating Neighborhood jumbo wheel. Thanks for stopping by!

Camp Fire Invitation

Earlier this summer we entertained the idea of having a big camp fire picnic here at our house. We ended up not having it, but I had gone so far as to create an invitation for it.

I always need some inspiration before starting a card, so I used the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #19 from a few months ago for my layout. Thanks for stopping by!
